my CURRENT work FACILITATING organizational learning EXPERIENCES
In my work, I create deliberate learning experiences around far-ranging strategic questions--"how should the practices of culturally relevant pedagogy influence Teach For America's support and development of teachers?" or "how do we grow the knowledge, skills and capacities of new teachers over time?"
Curating these spaces is a collaborative effort. I work with several (sometimes as many as a dozen) other senior leaders and project managers across my organization to synthesize, integrate and plan timely learning engagements around major strategic and knowledge questions.
Below, I've provided a work sample from a recent learning experience to illustrate how one question can spur the conditions for evolved decision-making for a large non-profit.
TRANSLATING a central question into a group learning experience: A PLANNING EXAMPLE
- This experience involved ~45 participants who lead teacher preparation and around a dozen other organizational content leaders.
- After consulting with the Vice President of the Teacher Preparation Team to determine what this session needed to accomplish, I authored this plan and sought the input of around fifteen different actors to further clarify and hone the draft.
- I served as the primary facilitator for the experience and also provided 1:1 coaching/support to guest facilitators.
